MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE ST AUBIN RESIDENTS’ ASSOC ON 11th January 2010  AT LES BURINS AT 7.00 pm

PLANNING - The Old Sail Loft has been purchased by Alan Webb and plans are to convert it into 4 self catering holiday appartments, with 2 parking spaces outside.  

GENERAL MEETING/AGM - the need for a General Meeting in February was discussed and it was suggested that we could just have a structured AGM in April. Possible dates are 22nd or 26th April, depending on the availability of the Parish Hall.  It is thought that the AGM could be used to report achievments and to ask the members what we can do for them in the future. Improvements for the village etc.  Notice will have to be delivered to all members to encourage attendence and DW suggested that  following the AGM we could deliver copies of the minutes together with an application form to every house in the village to encourage membership. MHP also suggested that we could have a guest speaker - Nick Jouault , marine biologist -

FUND RAISING - General aims for the village, more Xmas lights - MJ has sent lights for refurbishment ( at the Parish expense ) so hopefully next year we will have them !

GF brought up the subject of safety & the potential traffic calming effect of another zebra crossing at La Haule. DW mentioned that the current zebra does not have enough lighting and a bin blocks the path . MN has also expressed a need for some CTV cameras directed at the bus stop area.

GF also brought up re-cycling bins. He has seen some on the harbour which include 2 for non-recycling .  It was agreed that we do need more in the village - perhaps in the carpark . The subject of the wheelie bin in the High Street was also mentioned and MHP has spoken to MJ about this on 3 occasions . GF suggested that maybe it could be mentioned to the police as it obstructs the pavement. MHP to go back to MJ.

MHP has asked MJ about the results of the “Forum “ from 2008 and he confirmed that they had not been handed to the States as the timing was not right. It must be concluded from this that MJ has no intention of ever submitting the results to the States.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS - MN has mentioned that Steve Bailey would llike to join.


WEBSITE - following an e mail to all members, asking for help with this GJ reported that we had no replies.  This will be brought up at the AGM.


The meeting closed at 8.00pm and the date of the next committee meeting is to be the Monday 8th February at Les Burins at 7.00 pm.
