GJ reported that RJ had spoken to David from the “Sole “ restaurant , following on from the letter to planning. David has assured us that he will do all in his power to reduce the cooking smells. The recent AGM was thought to have been reasonably sucessful and although there were only 37 people present, it did manage to raise awareness of our efforts. MHP raised the subject of committee member roles. It was suggested that we should share responsibility as and when things occur. There were thought to be 4 main areas - Website - RJ currently has the access , however GF suggested that we should ask an expert to look after it . After discussion it was decided that GF should approach Richard Close with a view to him managing the site on our behalf. Events - MHP reported that IK has booked the Parish Hall for a summer party on the 8th August . MN offered to talk to IK with a view to offering our help with preparations. AM is to organise a Quiz night - date suggested 22nd October - with the help of SK. The raffle/Xmas party ( to include the Xmas lights ) - provisional date Friday 27th Nov or 4th Dec. Spring/Easter event at the end of March was also suggested. There is to be a meeting with MJ re the lights in June at latest. Planning - MHP agreed to continue to with her good work in this department, with DW helping and GF assisting with letter writing. Membership - Mike Jackson feels that we are a “splinter” group. It was decided to reach out to residents and MN suggested that we should perhaps ask members what we can do for them? Aims for the coming year - It was suggested that we should meet up with the other groups in St Aubin. MN advised that the Traders Assoc was not doing very much, so it was decided that MHP will talk to Pat Robson, Nigel Godfrey, Natalie Duffy and the chairman of the Boatowners committee. This is to combine our information re the Xmas lights fund/ Tourism money etc . Zebra Crossing - MHP has spoken to MJ , who has spoken to TTS and is pushing for a report. A letter will be sent at the end of this month as another reminder. Suggestions were made for a sponsored crossing to bring more attention to our cause. Fly tipping - a resident has reported the tipping of road sweepings into the hedge on land on Mont de la Rocque. It is apparantly either Parish land or Marrett Crosby land and MJ is reported to be unconcerned either way. DW thinks that it is Green Belt land. Collection of subscriptions : GJ is to email / write to all members advising that following the AGM the subscription has been raised to £5 per person. The date of the next meeting was agreed as Monday June 8th at 7.00pm. Meeting closed at 7.30. |
