Minutes of the Annual  General  Meeting of the St Aubins Residents Association held at St    Brelade Parish Hall on Monday 20th April 2009 at 7.30 pm.

Committee  -  Present  : MHP, RJ, AM, NS, GF, VK, SK, GJ

RJ opened  by giving the Chairmans’ report for the year.  He began with the progress on the Forum and advised that there were copies of the report, that had been amended and revised by MHP, available for everyone to read.

The Zebra crossing, speed limit reduction , moving of the bus stop , smiley faces were all mentioned.

MHP then delivered the report on planning matters that had affected the area during the year and their outcome.  A copy is attached herewith.

RJ announced that he was standing down as chairman and proposed MHP as his  replacement.  This was seconded by AM. Nominations for the committee were considered and the addition of Diane Weber to the committee was proposed and seconded by MHP. The committee will therefore consist of MHP, GF, AM, MN, VK, SK, NS, DW and GJ.

MHP then addressed the room as our new Chairman, thanked everyone for their support and said that we must build upon this in the coming year.  She plans to have meetings with the other groups in the area i.e the traders etc, more progress with the pharmacy , a more integrated parking policy and talks with MJ re the Xmas lights will start soon, to give him enough time.

VK delivered the annual accounts of the Association which show a profit which is to be used for the Xmas lights.  There were no questions raised on the accounts.  A copy is    attached herewith.

Subscriptions were mentioned and it was agreed and voted upon by the members present that in view of the cost of the website , the annual sub should be raised to £5 per person.

SK mentioned that there was to be a raffle to raise money for the Xmas lights and that there had been a donation from the Boat House of £500.

There were questions from the floor.  PDW asked if anything could be done about the building works in Market Hill that had been going on now for 11 years. MHP will speak to Alistair Coates. LW mentioned the lack of recycling in St A. The Zebra X was mentioned and the lack of progress in general traffic/parking matters. The MC suggested that maybe we could keep a list of requests made to MJ etc and post them on the notice board somewhere, thereby keeping an up to date gentle reminder to our Connetable. There was some debate on the problems with speeding / the wine bar etc and it was confirmed that should there be problems we must call the police so that these can be officially recorded.

MHP thanked everyone once again and the meeting closed at 8.30.
