Why are the usual flags etc not up? actually went up 3 weeks later)

What has happened to smiley faces? MJ: We only have the use of one machine which  has a flat battery at the moment. They cost £3000 each and we have to share it with the whole parish, but they do appear to have worked. Later "lent" to St Lawrence

MJ : They are going up next week!

( they

Parking problems on Mont de la Rocque making it dangerous. MJ: Car parking needs to be sorted. A mirror would be better than nothing.

General Parking problems and the mention of parking permits

MJ : He said he had avoided giving permits to one sector of the community ( except boat owners as Murray pointed out) He asked if residents would be willing to pay . YES was the answer. MJ said this all needed research. Taxis in the landslide were mentioned and MJ said he was keen to have them moved. Their habit of washing their cabs is apparently illegal and taxis are not supposed to park on road. All well and good but G Cornwall pointed out that its very impractical to police. It was suggested that a commercial vehicle ban may help. Just a sign would be sufficient for now!

Speeding down the High Street. Need more speed bumps. Suggestions such as Tower Road style rubber humps etc & planters may help. Need another 15 mile an hour sign as not well signed at present

Letter from CT . Contents read out by SK. Cyclists on the pavement La Haule >St A , insurance, speed on the railway walk & hired bikes abandoned by Parish Hall. NS mentioned that the St A section of cyclist track is very dangerous & a dismount sign that used to be on railway walk has gone.

Are horses allowed to ride up High Street?

MJ : NO but they do.

Whatlwhylwho is in the police station? MJ : Community police only. We pay for one policeman 9>5 and he is retiring soon. Basically there are no resources for policing St A. Lots of suggestion of leaving it up to the licencee to police peoples drinking. But fact is there is not a lot of policing in St A

Rubbish! around Mont de la Roque. MJ: suggestion of Eurobin but risk of ''fly tipping"

Dog Mess! Where do you put it when you pick it up?

MJ: The non existent bins

Recycle bins.

MJ has asked TIS (Transport Technical Services) to provide. None yet

Trafalgar Wine Bar to provide cigarette bins?

MJ has asked but not received!!

Forum report in a short manageable form? MJ Its on its way and will go to the Minister of Transport and Minister of Economics but we WILL see a summary.

Have you (MJ and SF) learnt anything from the Forum? SF It was good to see the whole community reach a compromise. MJ Agreed and said that he had thought land reclamation had been wanted and then the Forum proved otherwise.

It was pointed out that at hustings, all 7 candidates spoke of reclamation and no one objected then. SF was then asked what she meant when she spoke of land reclam being "on the back burner". With difficulty SF said that it would not be considered until everything else had been tried.

Ramsar was mentioned and MJ and SF asked if they would support Ramsar. SF said yes and MJ admitted that he needed to understand more about it.

What happened to the £200,000 promised for the feasibility study? MJ & SF said it was not promised and appears to be unavailable now!!!

What happened to the £20,000 given by the Boat House to assist with parking?

MJ : It is with planning. Should it not be in the Parish funds? MJ ??? No answer received

La Collette - thoughts that Jersey will overspend .. again.

Mont de la Rocque/St Cecelia development? Lots of talk of the volume of rock to be moved and the effect on environment. MJ's personal thought is that if it is too expensive then it will not happen. It is to be discussed in States on July 11 though.

Geological report mentioned re the fault in landslide area. Also the green area around La Tour Hotel. The Mont de la Rocque trees were also mentioned.

In election year, SF are you standing again? SF will be standing for election but declined

( even after very serious prompting from Murray) to confirm if it was for Senator .

although she did admit she was having serious thoughts about being a Senator.

MJ ,on being asked the same question said he was happy to continue as Connetable and felt that it took the first 3 years to get into the "swing" of things.

The car rally. Can we say no? OW had completed a form and been told it would be sent to

MJ but he had not received it. MC said this happened every year and no one ever

listened. Suggested writing of letters if its not too late.

Noise from pubs at bottom of High Street. Guest house owner had complaints from guests every weekend. It was suggested that letters should be sent to Environment & Health at Le Bas Centre and the Licensing Bench. Bring your own wine establishments also caused concern.

Decoration of Parish Hall? MJ : it was done as soon as the weather allowed

Bus Stops? MJ is on the case with Murrays help.

BIG BIG thanks to Murray for his comparing skills and funniest moment of the night being the SF "denial" of her intentions.
