Minutes of a committee meeting of the St Aubins Residents Association at Les Burins on 3rd March 2008 PRESENT MHP" RJ" MN" POW,. AM .. NS" SK" VK" GJ" GF. Apologies CT The website was discussed and those with personal details to attach to their photographs, handed them to GJ to send to Adam. THE OLD SAIL LOFT - MHP had attended the planning meeting and advised us that the on site meeting was to take place on the Tuesday after Easter- the 22nd March. Following that the Parish assembly would be held re the license. Plans of the proposed restaurant show clearly that there is a restaurant on one half of the building and a separate bar area. MHP said that both the Deputy and Connetable were against the restaurants at the meeting, however Mike Jackson had apparantiy told Mr Williams that there would be no problem with the residents (prior to Xmas) MHP had also been approached by Mr Williams, offering a chemist area upstairs from the restaurant. The plans for St Cecilia were also discussed - 4 flats and 1 penthouse, with parking 10 cars, Cliff House on Market Hill and the pending Mont de la Rocque. GF mentioned traffic noise and speed in the High Street. The 15 MPH is only painted - we need more signs! speed ramps maybe even "Access to premises only" MHP suggested a 2 way traffic at bottom of the hill, for deliveries only, RJ reported that Mike Jackson had said he was going to give Citicabs one month notice to stop using the landslide parking lot as a taxi rank. MN mentioned that 2 1/2 years ago the bus stop outside his cafe was supposed to be temporary. He even had a letter from Connex to this effect. This bus stop causes problems, not only with unloading, but as it is at the most narrow point of the road, congestion of cars ( Not healthy for outside diners). Could we propose that it be moved to the unofficial taxi rank area further along? VK mentioned zebra crossings and it was agreed that we could have 2. One from supermarket to the bank and the other outside Murrays. AM also mentioned the need for a wheelchair ramp on the supermarket side of road bank. All these things could be covered in one letter to the transport dept. It was then decided that a St Aubins Res Assoc meeting should be called for April 1st (if the parish hall is available), this being the day following the parish meeting about the outcome of the Forum. RJ is to investigate booking the hall. AM reported that she had written to Tony O'Neill (Sandpiper) to suggest a chemist could be incorporated within the Checkers shop. MN said he had bumped into TON measuring space. VK has the bank opening forms and will bring to GJ tomorrow. We then discussed if we should have designated "Planning Hawkeyes". MHP and SK will keep a watchful eye on future plans but we must all be attentive on this matter. PDW has 3 old prints that he thinks will look good on the website and has sent these to Adam. Meeting closed with the agreement that the next gathering is to be 1st April 2008 and next committee probably soon after that. |
