MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE OF THE ST AUBINS' RESIDENT ASSOCIATION HELD AT MURRAYS ON MONDAY 11TH FEBRUARY 2008 PRESENT: MURRAY, MARGI, ANNIE, SUE, NATASHA ,PETER, GORDON, ROBERT, GILL, CHRIS AND VIJAY. MN stated that the report from the Forum for the Future of St Aubins had been delivered to him today and MHP had also received a copy. MN said that he had been invited to attend the Steering Group meeting on behalf of the traders and had used this opportunity to challenge the conduct of the "Forum" , the wording that had been released to the press and the changes required to the statements in order to correct them. He also said that the result of the "Forum" was to make the two politicians involved" back-peddle" and to make a U-turn on the subject of reclamation. Many concerns were raised on this subject as it was generally felt that SF had not at any time agreed that reclamation was decided upon either way and had actually stated that it was on the "back burner" for now. Chris had brought a copy of the JEP with the front page article printed following the "Forum" and said that he had been disappointed on the way that the canvassing outside the parish hall had been reported. He also said that he had tackled SF about the house near La Haule that had been offered for parking and been told that the "figures did not add up" I Adam Coleman joined us to show us the possible format of the StARA website. The Constitution is ready and the few amendments agreed with Annie and Vijay. Gill now has the final copy and will send to Adam. The constitution in its final form is accepted by the committee MN mentioned the "Guide to St Aubins" book that was produced some years ago and that the use of the Traders for tourisurism development fund of £40,000 had been suggested to arrange re-printing. He felt that this could be useful for the website. The next meeting in connection with the Forum is on Tuesday 26th February at the Parish Hall at 7.30 which is to receive the parking survey by 0 Pipon and SF and the Action Plans from the groups at the forum and the Improvement Group. It is thought that there will be a Parish assembly at a later date to receive and discuss the workshop report . MN also suggested that at some time in the near future we could invite our Constable and SF to a "Question Time" evening at the Parish Hall so that residents may submit their questions directly to them in person Next meeting is to be held at Les Burins , High Street at 6.30 p.m. on 3rd March 2008. |
